Day 69: Trina's Starlite Lounge

Today I took the opportunity be reasonable and spend a large portion of the afternoon cleaning at home, then running some errands and even getting in a bit of work.  And what's more -- the day was ended by a very prompt arrival to the evening's activities, which was a get-together at a place in Inman to celebrate the arrival of an out-of-town pal of many of my friends (whom I was re-meeting for only the second time).  I had the pleasant experience of running into E.'s brother at the bar about 20 minutes before everyone else arrived for dinner, so we got to chit-chat over the ridiculous '50s-inspired beverages at Trina's Starlite Lounge, a place with food and atmosphere so good they almost live up to the (in my humble opinion) quite nifty name of the joint.

Trina's is a place where the menu includes corn dogs (actually there's a whole "Dogs" section), the bathroom boasts little mints for your pleasure, and the walls host pin-ups of Bettie Page-style vixens.  Just a feel-good place.  It's perfectly counterposed to Inman's other "throw-back" bar, one of the two Bukowski's in the vicinity.  Funny that such a place would feel so wholesome -- I think it must be the corn dogs.
