Day 39: Howl at the Moon

It's Friday, Friday... After work, I met a friend at my place in Cambridge, and we took the T into Boston -- a part of Boston I don't know very well, but is pretty close to the financial district.  There is a bar there (which is apparently part of a chain, something I didn't realize before, and which I had never been to until tonight) called Howl at the Moon. It is a piano bar (a "dueling" piano bar, even), and honestly I didn't really know what to expect -- the only other piano bar I'd ever been to was a much-more-brightly-lit version of something like Charles Playhouse (Boston) that was in London (the real one, not the fake one in Mass.).

Well -- it was sort of... strange and wonderful?  Highlights were free food until 8pm, an amazing female vocalist rocking out on the piano and wearing an incredible silver sequined sheath dress, some sort of scorpion-bowl-type drink called a Hurricane, a cheap way to advertise whatever the heck you wanted to the whole bar on a glow-in-the-bright "blackboard" [see the sweet message left for me above], and no cover because a friend won some sort of contest online.  Definitely strange, part wonderful, and part confusing, I'll conclude.
